The Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative (MAICEI) program, run by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education (DHE), offers grants to support students with intellectual disabilities to be included in college and university communities of learners. Over the three years ICH worked with MACEI as the evaluator, we assessed the successes and challenges college students with disabilities enrolled in the MAICEI program faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. ICH also helped MAICEI staff refine their program model, and conducted surveys, interviews, focus groups and observations with community college staff, program staff and students to understand how the different components of the program were working, and identify ways to strengthen program functioning.
