ICH conducted applied research for the BeHealthy initiative, a partnership between Health New England and the Baystate Healthcare Alliance. This research aimed to better understand the barriers that their patient population experiences in accessing primary care telehealth services. The project utilized a mixed methods approach, including qualitative interviews with patients, electronic health record data analysis, and a quantitative survey. Through this process, the Partnership learned about barriers and facilitators to telehealth use from the perspective of their patient population. At the end of the project, ICH synthesized all data and present findings in several professional conferences. The BeHealthy Partnership intended to use research findings to design an intervention to address barriers to telehealth, with a goal of improving the level of telehealth engagement in primary care services.
